Within the program #omarmrotterdam, we support sports associations to actively work on inclusion, equal opportunities, and social safety. We do this through training, advice, and concrete tools that help managers, coaches, and members create an open and safe sports culture.

In the past year, discussions have been held with athletes, coaches, and volunteers at fifteen roadshows in sports associations in the city on how to build an association together where everyone feels welcome. These roadshows have been developed in collaboration with partners such as RADAR and the Anne Frank Foundation, who, with their expertise, help bring issues of prejudice and exclusion to the table. Before the winter break, the last three roadshows of 2025 will take place.

On November 15, councilor Faouzi Achbar visited the initiative "Fist Against Discrimination", a roadshow within the approach Embrace Rotterdam, focused on combat sports. Co-organized with NIVM. Based on the belief that respect, discipline, and solidarity are core values of combat sports, athletes, coaches, and clubs are joining forces against all forms of discrimination or racism.

Through discussions, workshops, and sporting events, athletes are encouraged to come together and make a fist against inequality.

Thus, we are building a sports climate where everyone feels at home and where discrimination has no place. Because only together can we make a real fist: against discrimination, for respect, equality, and enjoyment of sports.
