Suggestion: 10 Rotterdam sports associations for the NIX18 pilot

NIX18 means: no alcohol for young people under 18 years old. That sounds clear, but compliance can be quite challenging for sports clubs in practice. Volunteers behind the bar may encounter difficult situations. How do you address someone? How do you prevent discussions? And how do you ensure that agreements within the club actually work? In the 2026/2027 season, we support ten sports clubs in Rotterdam in improving their alcohol policy.

Not from control or enforcement, but by looking together at what is going well and which approach fits the practice of your association. Participating associations: ✅ receive practical support for bar and canteen volunteers;

✅ can try new methods in a safe environment;

✅ do not receive checks and fines during the pilot;

✅ working on a healthy and safe sports park;

✅ strengthen the trust of parents, members, and volunteers.
