Tony Jas continues to pursue his dream: world boxing champion

Tony Jas continues to pursue his dream: world boxing champion.

Tony Jas has one clear goal in mind: to become the world champion. The 27-year-old boxer from The Hague is now unbeaten in eight professional fights and is building his career in professional boxing step by step. For 'The White Diamond', every match is a new opportunity to get closer to his ultimate dream.

During Boxing Gladiators at the Topsportcentrum Rotterdam, an important next test is scheduled. Jas will face Shafir Afridi, an opponent who is ranked higher on the world ranking list on paper. Jas is currently in 149th place, while Afridi occupies the 77th position.

A victory can change a lot

For Tony Jas, this match is therefore more than just a boxing match. A victory could bring him closer to the top 100 in the world rankings. This also brings another important ambition within reach: a fight for the European title.

The Hague boxer even sees the possibility of boxing that European title fight in his own city in the future. However, his ultimate goal remains bigger.

The world title.

Jas has never made it a secret that he is willing to give everything for it. Since his transition from kickboxing to professional boxing, his career has been entirely focused on that ambition.

From kickboxing to professional boxing

The choice to fully focus on boxing also meant for Jas that he had to let go of other plans. He was attending pre-university education, but decided to stop his studies in order to fully concentrate on his sports career.

He claims he no longer has a backup plan. Boxing is central.

This also means that Jas has completely structured his life around the sport. He trains six times a week and tries to take every step in his career carefully.

According to Jas, in professional boxing, it's not just about winning in the ring. Timing, patience, and making the right choices are also important. A wrong step can have consequences for future opportunities.

The mental side of boxing

In addition to physical strength, Jas also believes that the mental aspect plays a significant role. In a boxing match, you ultimately stand alone in the ring. Your opponent has the same goal as you: to win and get closer to their own dream.

That is precisely what makes professional boxing so special according to the man from The Hague.

Both boxers are trying to outdo each other mentally and physically. In the end, there is not only a victory at stake but also a piece of the future for both fighters.

The world title as the ultimate goal

Tony Jas is looking beyond his next match. He wants to build his career carefully and eventually have the chance to fight for the world boxing title.

He knows that this can take years. His own expectation is that he might be able to reach an important title fight within two years, but he is also considering a longer path.

Their determination remains the same in the meantime.

The championship belt must ultimately go around his waist.

Jas hopes to have accomplished everything in his boxing career by the age of 34. After that, he mainly wants to leave the sport in good health and be able to enjoy what he has built.

But it's not that far yet.

First waits the next challenge. And for Tony Jas, every victory is a new step towards that one great dream: to be the world boxing champion.
