What is an acknowledgment worth?

What is an acknowledgment worth?

The reason for my latest blog was a TV item about Thuisbezorgd removing reviews and only displaying stars. It’s about the value of what remains visible and what disappears. About the protection of entrepreneurs, but also about the loss of nuance.

A review is akin to receiving recognition, and in particular, 'Based on what?'

Please provide the text that you would like to have translated.

After more than 22 years of entrepreneurship, I have received various recognitions. Like in the photo where I received the 'taste maker' sticker from the then alderman Jan Seton, municipality of Groningen. That brings pride, positive energy, and visibility. But to be honest: not every recognition means the same thing. And not every recognition is equally well-founded.

In my blog, I reflect on four recognitions that I personally received. Not to condemn them, but to show how differently appreciation can work. Professional juries, public votes, encouragement awards, all with their own logic and their own blind spots. But actually, all without any real basis.

Why have I received this recognition, and perhaps equally important, what is the aftercare? How will we move this forward together? You with the organization that grants you the recognition!
