Arnold's advice

Arnold Schwarzenegger gave me what might be the best advice I have ever received.

I was lucky to train with him. One day I asked him:

How do you stay so motivated to exercise so often?

His answer was surprisingly simple:

I don't turn my brain on in the morning. I get up, brush my teeth on autopilot, put on my sneakers, and head to the gym. By the time I get there, I'm already in motion. Then I think: I'm already here, so I might as well start.

No emails. No planning. No discussions with oneself. Just go.

That insight stuck with me. Many successful people use the same principle: they reduce the space for doubt and decision-making.

Mark Zuckerberg is known for often wearing the same type of clothing.

Not because clothing does not interest him, but because he prefers to save his energy for more important decisions.

The same applies to sports, entrepreneurship, writing, or content creation.

As soon as you start thinking, the excuses come:

  • I am tired.
  • I'll do it later.
  • Not today.

That is why Arnold's advice is so powerful:

Don't give yourself a chance to negotiate with your own excuses. Stand up, get moving, and only think when you're already on your way.
