PARDON MARCEL?! 🥹❤️ Sometimes someone says something that may be a passing remark to them, but means an enormous amount to you. This is what Marcel Melis said during our recording of RAUWgesproken. And for those who know me a little, you know that having my own talk show has been my big dream for a very long time. So yes, this one really hit home. Marcel has sat at the table of major podcasts himself. He knows what it's like to be interviewed. And that's exactly why I found it so special that he mentioned how much he enjoyed our conversation.
Because there are so many podcasts now. Anyone can buy a microphone, set up three cameras and record a conversation. But for me, interviewing is so much more than asking questions. I want to know who is sitting across from me. What someone has been through. Why someone made certain choices. What lies behind the success. And sometimes that means asking follow-up questions. Sometimes asking a question the person didn't see coming. And sometimes simply keeping my mouth shut. Because the most beautiful answer doesn't always come directly after the question. As an interviewer, I don't need to be the center of attention. I want the person across from me to forget that three cameras are pointed at us.
That someone feels free to tell their story. And when a guest then says I should get my own talk show... I think: MARCEL, I'M READY! 😂🎤 But until then? I just keep building. On RAUW, speaking. On my interview skills. On conversations that stay with people. Because in the end, I don't have to wait for someone to give me a talk show. I'm already building one myself. And the best part... On December 9th I get to hit the stage again!
🔥I'm presenting Het Ondernemers Event by Marcel Melis and Cor Zuidema in Barneveld. An evening full of entrepreneurs, inspiring speakers, great conversations and, above all, lots of new connections. I'm really looking forward to it! It would be great if you join us too. Maybe we can finally meet in person. 😉 Marcel, thank you so much for this lovely compliment and for the trust to present your event again.
Who would you ever like to see in my seat?
