Who does good, meets good....

A good example encourages others to follow.
That may be one of the most beautiful lessons I have learned over the past years.
Not because I think I am the right example. But because I have discovered that when you act with genuine intention, something special happens.
You meet people with stories. People who show resilience, who touch you, inspire you, and sometimes hold up a mirror to you.
Recently, I had the privilege of meeting someone like that: Daan van der Veer. A colleague within the Ministry of Defence.
Daan is someone who also shows that growth begins by taking that first step. Precisely when life is difficult and when you are coming out of a tough period. 
That is what connection means to me.
Not respecting each other from a distance, but empowering each other by sharing stories. By being honest about setbacks and by showing that falling is human, but getting up is a choice.
My Seven Summits for Life takes me to high mountains. But the most beautiful encounters often occur at eye level.
Between people who might never have met if they hadn’t decided to share their story.
Because ultimately, it’s not the achievements that connect.
It’s the stories behind them.
My mother always said, 'Who does good, meets good.'
