For each other and with each other!
Mission #5 completed. The assignment continues. But the greatest gain was not at the top.
Yesterday, as a family, we conquered the Col du Grand Ballon.
The fifth mountain of My Seven Summits for Life for Matchis Stem Cell Donation. It was especially special that my colleague, Sergeant-Major Maarten Lalleman, came specifically to the mountain to carry out this mission together.
That is what true camaraderie does: you leave no one alone and share the burden together.
My ankle protested. The climb was tough. Giving up is never an option; we will make it to the top. Sem walked 3.5 kilometers with us and proved that leadership starts with setting a good example. Not with words, but with actions.
You don't carry cancer alone, that's what it says on my sleeve. But the mission is not yet completed.
Mountain 6 is calling again, which one that will be I will let you know later.... But the first will be the last and in 2027 I will complete the circle with Maarten on the Mont Ventoux.
Thus, My Seven Summits for Life is complete.... how beautiful is that!
