You should not medicalize everything.

You should not medicalize everything.
“You should not medicalize everything.”
I regularly receive this response when I write about high blood pressure.
But let’s make one thing clear:
prevention actually starts outside the doctor’s office.
With nutrition.
With sleep.
With stress reduction.
With exercise.
With knowledge of your own body and your own numbers.
That’s why I’m making this infographic. Because you often have more influence than you think. ❤️
But… there is also another side to the story. Some people develop severe hypertension at a young age. Sometimes heredity plays a big role. Sometimes it arises after pregnancy-induced hypertension or preeclampsia. Sometimes the blood pressure is so high that lifestyle alone is not enough.
In that case, medication is not a “failure.”
Medication is protection for the heart, brain, kidneys, and blood vessels.
Prevention and treatment do not have to exclude each other.
It is not lifestyle or medication.
It is looking at what someone needs.
That’s why I keep saying:
👉 Know your numbers.
👉 Take symptoms seriously.
👉 And don’t wait until heart health becomes a crisis.
⚠️ Disclaimer: always discuss changes in lifestyle or medication with your own doctor. Every situation is different.
