Finding Purpose in Pain

I don't feel like a hero, but people do call me that....

When I heard that I had metastatic melanoma, I didn't feel like a hero but rather a fighter, and above all, I felt human. Vulnerable, uncertain, and scared.

I became combative and made a choice.

From now on, never again with the elevator but always and everywhere with the stairs, never again the path of least resistance but of most resistance.

Not to give up, but to rise. Because a setback is not an endpoint for me, but an opportunity. A moment when you choose again which direction you go.

Because our time is really too short not to do it all.

This is how My Seven Summits for Life came to be.

Not to prove how strong I am.

But to show others that even in the deepest valley, there is always a high peak lurking, and there is always a way up.

I am not a hero. I am just Paul and I am here for others. August 2, France, peak moment #4

Have a nice vacation everyone!
