The American magazine Politico calls Ursula von der Leyen the "American president of the EU". 

There appears to be a direct line between Ursula and the US government even before 2020.

Prior to taking over the EU presidency, von der Leyen was the defence minister of the largest EU member state and, as such, was closely involved in both NATO and US defence policies. 

That commitment is evident from a 2017 press release from the U.S. Department of Defense that praised von der Leyen as NATO's European leader.
That history has earned her the title of 'Europe's American president' according to the leading magazine Politico. 

That magazine also states that Von der Leyen is considerably more popular in the US than in Europe itself.

During her time as defense minister, von der Leyen employed a right-hand man who has studied and taught at top American universities in the past. 

His name: Björn Seibert. He remained von der Leyen's right-hand man after she exchanged her job as defence minister for the highest position at the EU.
According to an article by the Berliner Zeitung, Seibert was already working with the secret services of the US and the UK in the autumn 

of 2021 – months before the Russian invasion of Ukraine – on the sanctions package for Russia should it invade Ukraine.
Seibert has also developed the idea of completely cutting off Russia from international payments through a blockade in the Swift system. 

These plans were made by him in coordination with Wally Adeyemo, deputy U.S. Treasury secretary and former BlackRock director, according to the Financial Times.

Politico also writes about the close collaboration between Björn Seibert and Jake Sullivan – President Biden's National Security Advisor. Seibert and Sullivan are 

even said to have a deep friendship with each other, according to Europe expert Thomas Fazi.

With the help of her right-hand woman Björn Seibert and the support of the Biden administration, Ursula von der Leyen managed to work her way up from

 the (American) queen of the EU, to the empress of the EU, according to a recent analysis in Politico of September 19, 2024. 
The European population is increasingly bearing the brunt of American oligarchs.
