Five years ago, I left university teaching behind. Recently, I reconnected with a standout former student—authentic, headstrong, intelligent, and spirited.
Our conversations were always a delight.
She shared her harrowing yet inspiring story: An accident led to coma and intens traumatic brain damage. Which made her relearn how to walk and talk, and recall memories. Which made her relearn how to walk and talk, and recall memories. What struck me was her sense of wonder at miracles in this process—achieving the "impossible" with sheer determination.
I'm humbled by her strength and grateful for such connections in my network.
This encounter prompts key questions: How much richer would our lives be if we embraced gratitude for the everyday things we take for granted? Why do we sweat the small stuff? And imagine a world where more people unleashed this inner power—what a transformation!
Drawing from positive psychology (Seligman's PERMA) and Frankl's logotherapy, it's clear: Gratitude fosters resilience and meaning.
