Last week was all about sports, innovation, and impact! 💡
What a week — surrounded by brilliant people: innovators, visionaries, and game-changers. 🚀
The Sports Mission organized by NBSO Los Angeles (Dzifa Quist-Sanford Pim Schimmel Jorrit DeVries), Netherlands Consulate in San Francisco (Mylene Jankowski Kimberly Beijersbergen Agnes Koppelman), Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the USA (Wilfred Hulzebosch Maurice Ouderland Monica Schagen), Netherlands Enterprise Agency (Daniël Wang Bart Hofenk) and Orange Sports Forum (John van de Laar Rick Sleegers) was fantastic! Seminars, Workshops, Sport Venues, City Visits and a wonderful (rooftop) Network Reception.

While my head’s still spinning 🤩, I feel grateful, energized, and hopeful.
Because in contrast to the stressful, tense, and backward headlines dominating the world, sports create a space where everyone belongs — to celebrate 🎉, connect 🤝, and think forward 🌍 as one global tribe.
With mega-events coming to LA — World Cup 2026 ⚽️, Super Bowl 2027 🏈, and Games 2028 🏆 — the city is gearing up not just for big moments, but for an unforgettable and impactful legacy. ✨
Sure, some focus on the costs 💰 — but here’s the fun fact: the 1984 LA Olympics made an $80M profit that kickstarted the LA84 Foundation, which’s since poured hundreds of millions back into local communities. 💪🏽
Today that legacy fund sits at nearly $300M — and the focus for LA28 has shifted from just winning 🥇 medals to making sports accessible for everyone! 🙌
Cause beyond economics — sports unite.
In a world where happiness is declining 📉, the Olympic and Paralympic Games remind us of what’s possible — and what it means to be human, inspired, and connected. ❤️🔥🌎
I’m thrilled that through the NLA - LA28 Hub 🇳🇱🇺🇸, we’ll help shape LA’s next great legacy.
Why is LA perfect for it? Because it’s never been done before — and it’s going to be a game-changer. 💫
